Children's Choir School
Sundays | 11:30 a.m. | September to May
Under the direction of Choirmaster, Nicholas M. Mynyk, the St. Luke's Choir School is a member of the Royal School of Church Music America. Children study Solfeggio, Rhythm, Classical English, Latin and Italian Musical terminology. They sing a wide repertoire of music including: World Music, Classical European, American, and Anglican. Students use Voice For Life from RSCM as their main instructional text. The Choir School sings weekly during Communion and for Lessons and Carols in December.
This program provides an excellent foundation for future advanced music studies. Graduates of the Choir School have gone on to study music in High School and at the college level and have been recipients of scholarships in music most notably at: Villa Joseph Marie, Nazareth Academy, Mount St. Joseph’s, The Lawrenceville School, The Pennington School, Stewart Country Day School, Princeton Boys Academy, Princeton Day School, Westminster Choir College, The College of New Jersey, Susquehanna University, Ithaca, Vassar College, Marywood University, and Princeton University.
