Rev. Ernest Albert Curtin Jr.


A native of Trenton, NJ, Rev. Curtin graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. After college he pursued his studies at the Virginia Theological Seminar and has a Masters of Theological Studies. He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trenton State College.

On Dec 16, 2006 at the Philadelphia Cathedral, Deacon Ernie Curtin was ordained a priest by Bp. Bennison of the Diocese of PA on behalf of Bp. Ackerman of the Diocese of Quincy.

Rev. Curtin states that he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior when he was a freshman in college. He has been a cradle Episcopalian, having been baptized and confirmed at St. Matthais Episcopal Church in Trenton.

Rev. Curtin worked as a corporate paralegal for twenty five years before being ordained to the diaconate in 2006. He served as a Deacon at St. Luke's prior to becoming an assistant Priest after his ordination in December of 2006. Rev. Curtin has served St. Luke's in many ways and capacities. He has been a member of Vestry, served in the position of a lay reader and chalice bearer and held the position of Deacon prior to his ordination to Priesthood. Father Curtin continues to hold the position of Church Sunday School Superintendent and also run various prayer groups and bible study programs, in addition to working with the Youth Group.

On March 15, 2009 Father Ernest Albert Curtin Jr. was installed as the new Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Newtown, PA.

Rev. Curtin say that the following people who have influenced his spiritual journey include Kathryn Kuhlman, Billy Graham, Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, John Stott, C. S. Lewis, JRR Tolkien and many faithful Episcopal priests and laity. Rev. Curtin states that his sense of call to ministry is based on the baptismal covenant and Christ's Great Commission.

Nicholas M. Mynyk, Conductor, holds a B.M.. and M.M.. from Westminster Choir College of Princeton , New Jersey, Professional Diploma from the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music of the Vatican, Rome, Italy. Mr. Mynyk has performed as a pianist, organist, violinist and conductor throughout the Eastern United States, France and Italy . Notable appearances include the Julliard School, Carnegie Recital Hall, Duke University, Steinway Hall, Princeton University, Westminster Choir College, the Duomo of Sienna, St. Maria di Fiori in Florence, Italy and the Church of La Madelaine, Parise, France. Previous posts have included the organist of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy, NJ, organist and choir master of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Trenton, NJ, and the activities director of the Royal School of Church Music Kings College Course in Wilkes Barre, PA. Previous concerts have included performances of the Vivaldi Gloria and Magnificat, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Haydn's Creation, Te Deum, the Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio, the Faure Requiem, Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Requiem. Mr. Mynyk is currently the Organist and Choir Master of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church of Newtown, PA and the Conductor of the Academy of Saint Luke's Chamber Orchestra. As founder of the Trinity Chamber orchestra and the Academy of St. Luke's,. Mr. Mynyk has performed numerous concerti and orchestral suites of J.S. Bach, Corelli, Torelli, Vivaldi and Telemann. Mr. Mynyk is also a member of the Piano Department of Westminster Conservatory, Princeton, NJ. Mr. Mynyk also maintains a private studio in Newtown, PA and Hightstown, NJ.
