[POSTPONED] Fr. Curtin’s Retirement & St. Luke’s Day Celebration

Join the members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church as we celebrate Father Ernest Curtin’s retirement from St. Luke’s in May 2021. This dinner will also honor our patron saint, St. Luke. This will be a group dinner. There will be additional seating areas for families with unvaccinated children.

Schedule of Events:

    • 2-4 p.m. | Buffet Dinner
    • 4 p.m. | Speeches
    • 5 p.m. | Dessert

Menu:

    • Salad with bread and butter selection
    • Chicken Dijon
    • Gingered scallops
    • Pasta in a blush sauce (gluten-free will be available)
    • Green Beans
    • Cake
    • Fresh Fruit
    • Coffee Service

Formal invitations will be mailed out at the end of August. Please make sure your mailing address is updated with Susan Bello. All RSVPs are due back by September 25.

Parish members are encouraged to either speak at the celebration, perform, or send in a picture or a short paragraph of a memory or an expression of what Fr. Curtin meant to you. These will be included in a memory book. Please email in the pictures and/or a paragraph to Susan Bello at stlukeschurchpa@verizon.net.

This will be a free event. Donations to defray the cost of the dinner and for a monetary gift for Fr. Curtin are currently being collected. Donations can be mailed to the church — 100 Washington Ave., Newtown, PA, 18940 — to the attention of Ruth Mooney. Please specify with your donation how the funds should be used (dinner, gift or both).

Volunteers will be needed on Friday, October 15 at 7 p.m. to assist setting up the Parish House for the celebration.
